The Good Clinical Practice (GCP) course is designed to prepare research staff in the conduct of clinical trials with human participants. The 12 modules included in the course are based on ICH GCP Principles and the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) for clinical research trials in the U.S. The course is self-paced and takes approximately six hours to complete.
Users are required to complete a quiz following each module, except for the Introduction module. To receive a certificate, all quizzes must be completed with at least 80% accuracy. Upon successful completion of all quizzes, the user will be given access to the Certificate of Completion. Within the NIDA Clinical Trials Network, certification expires after three years

The CPHIMS-CA credential requires passing two exams: CPHIMS and CA (Canadian Supplemental). • Both exams are comprised of multiple-choice questions that test recall, application, and analysis skills in the health, information, and management sciences. • Writers must pass both exams to achieve CPHIMS-CA certification. Exams can be taken separately or together, but must be passed within a year of each other to acquire the full designation. • The pass rate is ~70%. • Prep courses are available throughout the year from Digital Health Canada in both Online and On-Demand format. Courses are supported by review guides specific to each exam.
Candidates must have a baccalaureate degree plus five (5) years of associated experience, with three (3) of those years in health informatics OR a graduate degree plus three (3) years of associated experience, with two (2) of those years in health informatics. Associated experience includes the following functional areas: administration/management, clinical information systems, eHealth, information systems or management engineering. In order to be deemed eligible for the CRA Certification exam, applicants must attest to having earned 3,000 hours of professional experience performing the knowledge and tasks located in the six content areas of the CRA Detailed Content Outline. Any experience older than ten years will not be considered.
